موضوع : شرايط نامطلوب پناهجويان ایرانی
عدم برخورداری از امکانات پزشکی و نداشتن اجازه کار و تحصیل
و بلاتکلیفی، سبب شده پناهجویان به مرز "فروپاشی روحی "برسند. اعتصاب های
غذایی، تجمعات اعتراضی از سوی پناهندگان روشی دیگر برای تغییر شرایط نامطلوب
کنونی است تا بتوانند به حقوق خود به عنوان یک انسان دست یابند.
ضمن ابراز تاسف از عملکرد وکلای کمیساریای عالی پناهندگان
سازمان ملل و همچنين در نظر گرفتن بند ١٤ بيانيه حقوق بشر و كنوانسيون سال ١٩٥١ و
پروتكل ١٩٦٧سازمان ملل ، ما نهادهاى حقوق بشرى در حمايت از پناهجويان از همه
مسئولان و دستگاههاى ذيربط خواستار به رسمیت شناختن حقوق پناهندگان و تامین امکانات
مالی ، آموزشی و خدمات پزشکی می باشیم.

RE:THE UNDESIRABLE
CONDITION OF IRANIAN NATIONALS SEEKING REFUGEE STATUS
Your Excellency
The Islamic Republic of
Iran has been committing many atrocities against its own people, including
extensive human rights violation, banning protests against the Regime’s
policies, arresting and imprisoning protestors. These problems are
exacerbated by the sociopolitical situation in the country, leaving many people
with feelings of despair and hopelessness. As a result, in recent years,
there has been a flood of Iranians seeking refugee status in other countries.
However, these poor
people, who have had to deal with so many atrocities in Iran, find that their
situation in the host countries processing their refugee applications is also
appalling. The host countries are making the whole process unbearable,
causing the asylum seekers innumerable physical and mental problems, such as
disease and a complete lack of security.
To cite a few examples,
Mohammad Rahsepar and Hamed Samiee both committed suicide, mainly as a result
of severe depression and stress from not knowing their fate and harsh
treatment. Hamid Khazaiee’s blood infection, which went untreated, led to
his death. Keivan Nazaree took his own life by opening the gas tank in
the kitchen. The drowning of so many asylum seekers in boats on the way to
Australia and the suspicious death of Jamal Hosseini are testimony to the lack
and absence of any proper supervision by the Envoys of Un refugee
Commissioner’s office.
Asylum seekers
experience severe mental anguish and depression due to being denied rights to
work, education and medical attention also not knowing their future. As a
result, they are forced to fight for their rights by going on hunger strike and
demonstrations against the tragic conditions they find themselves in.
To conclude, we are
writing to express our disappointment with the Envoys of the UN refugee
Commissioner. We would like to draw your attention to the United Nation's
declaration of Human Rights, in particular to article 14, moreover the 1951
Refugee convention and its 1967 Protocol to protect refugee rights. We
demand the complete recognition and observance of the human rights of asylum
seekers, particularly in relation to the provision of medical and educational
facilities and financial assistance.
